Stewardship Built on Precision and Trust

Our Story: From Aircraft Maintenance to Property Care

Colvent started because our founder, Chuck Collier, saw a major gap in the trust industry. Chuck spent his career as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer in the Air Force. In that high-stakes environment, maintenance is a disciplined, proactive mission to prevent failure before it happens.

After retiring from the military and becoming a licensed contractor, Chuck realized that trust-owned properties were often managed reactively. Trustees were experts in finance but often lacked a technical partner to oversee physical assets. This led to neglected homes, rising costs, and unnecessary risk.

In 2009, Chuck launched Colvent to change that. We apply the same root-cause problem solving used in aircraft maintenance to trust-owned homes and vehicles. As a veteran-owned company, we believe in clear standards and disciplined oversight. We don’t just fix what is broken. We identify why it broke and help keep the property a stable, high-value asset within the trust.

The “This Is Handled” Standard

We know your day is busy enough without fielding calls about broken water heaters or vendor disputes. Our goal is to be the partner who removes that noise from your desk. When we say a property is “handled,” we mean it. It means every vendor is vetted, every repair is verified, and every compliance detail is documented.

Root-Cause Problem Solving

We don’t believe in band-aid fixes. If a property has a recurring issue, we dig deeper to find the source. This logic comes straight from our aviation roots. By defining requirements clearly and solving the actual problem, we save the trust time and money while keeping the property in top shape.

Clarity and Results

We assume you are a knowledgeable professional who values results over long explanations. You don’t need us to explain the basics of property management. You need to know that your risks are reduced and your assets are protected. We lead with outcomes and keep our reporting clear, concise, and focused on what matters for your fiduciary records.

The People Behind the Process

Our team is a specialized group that understands how to blend residential operations with fiduciary standards. We aren’t just property managers. We are stewards dedicated to the integrity of the assets under our care.

Our Process

Colvent Group provides oversight and coordination while connecting clients with independently licensed contractors. All construction contracts remain directly between the client and the selected contractor.

Scope Definition

Every request is clearly defined before work begins. Scope, communication, and expectations are established upfront to ensure controlled execution.

Property Assessment

We establish a complete understanding of the property before any work is approved. Issues are identified early to prevent misaligned repairs and unnecessary capital deployment.

Controlled Execution

Work is executed against defined specifications, supported by vetted contractors, proper permitting, and multiple estimates when required. Progress is documented throughout and verified upon completion.

Ongoing Oversight

Ongoing oversight ensures the property remains stable over time. Maintenance is structured, communication is consistent, and emergent issues are addressed before they escalate.

Happy Customers

“Colvent took over a portfolio of trust homes and immediately brought structure where there was chaos. I now have full confidence that maintenance can proceed without daily involvement.”

F.A.Q.

How does this differ from traditional property management?
Property management is usually focused on the day to day tasks of leasing, collecting rent, and immediate repairs. Our oversight service is focused on the fiduciary interests of the trustee. We provide long term monitoring, record keeping, and risk mitigation specifically for trust owned assets.
Can this service be used for vacant properties?
Yes. Vacant properties often require even more vigilant oversight to prevent issues like stagnant water, security risks, or undetected leaks. We tailor our monitoring to the specific occupancy status of the home.
Can you handle compliance for properties in multiple states?
Yes. Our coordination model is built to handle property portfolios across different regions. We provide a single point of contact for the trustee, regardless of where the physical assets are located
How do you handle disputes with contractors?
We act as the trustee’s representative. By monitoring the project closely, we can often identify and resolve potential issues before they become formal disputes, ensuring the project stays on track and the trust’s interests are protected.
